SHARING OWNERSHIP OF THE FUTURE . . . And Managing the Big Transitions to Come
JOHN ABRAMS is founder and CEO of South Mountain Company, a 41-year-old integrated architecture, engineering, building, and renewable energy company committed to triple bottom line business practices. Located on Martha’s Vineyard, SMC has been a worker cooperative for 28 years and was one of the first B-Corps in Massachusetts.
Closing Keynote: Paul Fallon
How Will We Live Tomorrow?
Paul E. Fallon (MIT 1977, 1981) spent his architectural career designing healthcare facilities. A casual connection to Haiti became a commitment after that country’s 2010 earthquake. Paul designed a trio of buildings there and lived in Haiti part-time to supervise construction. Oscillating between the Western Hemisphere’s most affluent nation and its poorest cousin became the focus of his book Architecture by Moonlight (University of Missouri Press, 2014).
